Councilmember Joe Buscaino Diverts $40K of (GAP) Gang Alternatives Program $$ to Two Private Parties
Updated: Sep 8, 2019
Yes two parties. Can you imagine a scenario where any elected politician diverts money devoted to prevent kids from joining gangs, engaging a kid's parents in their daily routine to avoid the dangers of becoming a gang member and Councilmember Joe Buscaino takes $40,000 from these kids to throw a party for himself?
We have the documents! Sent to us once this website was created as residents of council district 15 begin the process of getting Councilmember Joe Buscaino removed from office due to these two misuses of funds and multiple issues in district that go unattended.
What else he taken? How high does this go in the inner workings of Los Angeles city politics?
We have the evidence of Councilmember Joe Buscaino taking money from the Harbor Area Gang Alternatives Program (GAP) in Council District 15, an amount totaling $40,000, and moving those dollars to two personal entertainment and ethnic related events.
Yes Coucilmember Joe Buscaino has taken funding from children in dire need of the Gang Alternatives Program and put the money in to his own pocket. To events that do nothing but make him look good as neither program where funds were diverted do anything for the community in need of gang related issues.
DoNothingBuscaino.com has possession of two documents from 2016 where Councilmember Joe Buscaino stole $20,000 from the Gang Alternative Program (GAP) and diverted those funds to the Italian Heritage Month Celebration at Los Angeles City Hall and the Community Block and Spaghetti Dinner in San Pedro.
The second theft of GAP funding for $20,000 which took place last year in 2018 where Councilmember Joe Buscaino stole an additional $20,000 from the Harbor Area Gang Alternatives Program (GAP) and diverted those funds to "defray the costs of Italian American Heritage Month Celebrations" according to documents obtained from the office of the city clerk.
Both documents were obtained legally as contracts are in the public record.
$40,000 taken from the Gang Alternatives Program (GAP) while gang activity runs rampant in Councilmember Joe Buscaino's 15th council district.
What is the goal of the Gang Alternatives Program (GAP)? On the organization's brochure it touts gang prevention, gang awareness, graffiti prevention and outreach to the community and Councilmember Joe Buscaino used funding for the Gang Alternatives Program (GAP) for his personal use.
This is immoral. While Council District 15 wallows in illegal dumping and parking violations along with no weekly street cleaning Councilmember Joe Buscaino has used Gang Alternative Program (GAP) funds for his own personal use.
Where is $40,000 going? Who get this money from Councilmember Joe Buscaino? Should there be an accounting of these funds?
Of course yes. While gangs roam the streets of Councilmember Joe Buscaino's District 15 HE is spending money on his own personal efforts that have nothing to do with the people in his area of representation.
People in his district eat burritos and burgers, not spaghetti. Where did and who received $40,000 of money targeted to fight street gangs go from Councilmember Joe Buscaino?
The images of those diverted funds is below.
